Centerstands for Vespa
The centerstand is the component which allows you to park your Vespa. This must always be perfectly balanced and intact, not to run any risks, above all the fall of our motorbike. Some lateral models (or jiffies) exist, which are very useful for a short parking.; in this case, your Vespa would be bended on one side and even more beautiful.
In the section dedicated to centerstands, you can also find a handy stand that can be fastened to the rear engine shaft to change the spare wheel in case of a flat tyre.
In this section there are different and characteristic components:
- bridge brackets, to fasten the stand to the trim
- feet, commonly called shoes, which give additional stability to the stand
- retaining springs, which are necessary to make the stand come back to its initial position after the parking
- pads, which ease the return of the stand to the trim, once removed
BIZARRE NEWS:
The first Vespa model, designed in 1946, didn’t have a stand for parking. The Vespa was simply bent on one side and an iron base was put under the trim as a stand. The real stand was added two years later.
SOME TIPS FOR YOU:
If you have to park on an uneven ground, which could be unsafe for the stability of the parking, take two wooden boards (10cmX10cm) to have the best stability.
